I was so happy with my master bath I had Leila do my kitchen with the same outstanding results. Each project she does is unique, no cookie cutter approaches. My new kitchen and bath compliment my house and show my personality. I love them!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Design-Build?
Design build means that one company is responsible for both the design and construction of the project. Clients have one contract and one contact, rather than having multiple design companies and external contractors involved. Design build offers peace of mind so the client does not have to be fraught with the challenges of managing the project by themselves. Designers and construction crews work under one roof as a cohesive team, and expertise extends from initial design right through construction, including budgeting, ordering products, obtaining permits, and scheduling the entire project.
Are your services limited to kitchens and baths?
While we are well known for our kitchen and bath expertise, we often work on projects throughout the home, everything from remodeling existing spaces to whole house remodels and small additions. Past projects have included entertainment centers, laundry rooms, mudrooms, libraries, home offices and more, however these projects are typically paired with a kitchen or bath remodel project when not part of a full home remodel. We do outdoor kitchens too! Check out our portfolio for a sampling.
How much will it cost to remodel our kitchen or bath?
Kitchen, baths, and remodels are like most anything else that you purchase: the costs are entirely dependent on the price of the materials chosen and the complexity of the job. We will work with you to determine the costs associated with your project and to help develop a reasonable budget. We offer products at many different price levels so to give you options that match your budget. Construction costs depend on extent of work, and we build those considerations into our design options. An industry rule of thumb is to consider 8-20% of the house's market value when estimating a kitchen remodel, but projects may be accomplished for less. Our projects can range anywhere from $25,000 for a simple pull-and-replace hall bath remodel with basic materials, all the way up to $1,000,000 for an elaborate whole house remodel or new construction project, and every price and project size inbetween.
If I have a small budget, will you do my kitchen?
Yes, of course. If you have a smaller budget, it is even more important for you to put your investment in the trustworthy hands of our professionals. Working with our designers provides you with far more ideas, more inspiration, more attention to detail, more service, and more quality options for your budget, as well as help you avoid costly mistakes. Stop by our showroom or call us at 925.284.4560 to set up your free in-store consultation.
What if I want to purchase just cabinets?
You can purchase cabinets only. If this is your preference, we would collaborate with you or your designer to design the project, confirm the measurements, and provide a supportive role for you and your contractor throughout your project. Learn more on our Design Service Levels page. We carry a wide range of custom, semi-custom, and stock cabinetry in a variety of styles and price levels, including cabinets by Bentwood, DeWils, Neil Kelly, CWP, New River, and Diamond.
What if I want to purchase just materials?
We have a full state-of-the-art retail showroom where you can shop for tile, plumbing, hardware, lighting, and many other products from hundreds of vendors so you can purchase just the items you need for what you’re working on. Visit our showroom in downtown Lafayette.
Do I need an architect for my project?
Depending on the scope of work, you may only need a Certified Interior Designer (CID), who is qualified to prepare non-structural/non-seismic construction documents for bidding and permit submittal as well as supervising the construction and installation of work. Should your project require the expertise of an architect or structural engineer, we will collaborate with one of our affiliates and still be able to offer you a full service Design-Build project.
What constitutes a "Certified Designer"?
Certified Interior Designers (awarded by CCIDC) and Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers (awarded by NKBA) have comprehensive knowledge, experience, and specialized training in their respective area of expertise, all proven by rigorous testing. Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers adhere to a strict Code of Professional Conduct and are experts in Planning Guidelines & Access Standards, which recognizes the importance of consumer health, safety and welfare in kitchen and bath design. Certification also requires that the designer remains current on local building codes, safety and environmental regulations and the wealth of new products and equipment on the market. Choosing your design professional is an important decision for your remodeling project’s success. The right interior designer will ensure a great final outcome that meets your design goals both functionally and aesthetically while respecting your project timeline and budget.
